Associate Logistics Manager
Position Job Scope
Job Responsibility
- Project Leadership & Implementation (From Zero to Go-Live) 1) Lead the entire project lifecycle for the new client/market operation, from initial kick-off and planning through to successful implementation and handover to steady-state management. 2) Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies. 3) Collaborate with Sales and Solutions Design teams to finalize the operational blueprint, ensuring client requirements are translated into feasible and efficient processes. 4) Lead the site selection and setup process, overseeing layout planning, racking, material handling equipment (MHE), and Warehouse Management System (WMS) implementation. 5) Manage relationships with key vendors, contractors, and technology partners during the setup phase.
- Operational Management & Excellence 1) Establish and document all SOPs for inbound, outbound, inventory management, value-added services, and safety protocols. 2) Assume full P&L responsibility for the operation once live, managing budgets, controlling costs, and driving profitability. 3) Ensure the operation consistently meets or exceeds KPI such as order accuracy, on-time shipment, inventory accuracy, and productivity targets. 4) Foster a culture of continuous improvement (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to optimize processes, reduce waste, and enhance service quality.
- Team Leadership & Development: 1) Mentor a high-performing team of warehouse supervisors, leads, and associates. 2) Build a positive and accountable team culture focused on safety, quality, and customer service. 3) Define clear roles, responsibilities, and performance goals for all team members.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: 1) Serve as the primary operational point of contact for the client, building strong, trusted partnerships through transparent communication and exceptional service delivery. 2) Lead regular business reviews with the client to review performance, address challenges, and identify new opportunities for growth. 3) Liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, including senior management, IT, and finance.
- Compliance & Safety: 1) Ensure full compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, etc.). 2) Champion a "safety-first" culture, conducting regular audits and training to maintain a secure work environment. 3) Ensure compliance with security protocols and inventory control standards.
Job Qualification
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, PMP) is a strong plus.
Work Experiences: 1) Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in contract logistics or warehouse management within a 3PL environment. 2) Proven, hands-on experience in leadership at least one full-cycle warehouse or DC start-up/implementation project is mandatory.
Skills and knowledge: 1) Extensive experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); experience implementing a new WMS is highly desirable. 2) Proficiency in WMS (e.g., SAP) and MS Project. 3) Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/BI for data analysis). 4) Understanding Lean Six Sigma principles is a significant advantage.
